Arashi Lotus Preview

After a strong 2010, Arashi will be releasing their first single for 2011 entitled “Lotus” on the 23rd of February.

The song is being used as Masaki Aiba’s drama Bartender.

JPOP Fandom unleashed!

Before reading this post. Please be aware that the things below will mostly contain Arashi songs. Thanks

So between H!P, JPOP (meaning artists out of H!P), and KPOP. I spent the lesser time lately in JPOP. I haven’t been listening to this for quite some time now. Especially Arashi. I missed them. They are like my all time favorite Boy band in the whole wide world. Better than Big Bang, Shinee, Westlife, and Backstreet Boys.

To start thing of. Here’s Arashi performing their song Subarashiki Sekai live.

This song has been on my head since the start of the week. This triggered my return to JPOP after a few months of Hiatus. I haven’t been listening to a lot of JPOP since the beginning of July this year.

So not many people know about this. But way way back, when Arashi was just starting their 20 #1 singles. There was a plan to release a PV for their song Subarashiki Sekai.

Well it didn’t worked out. JE decided not to release it. I think they favored to release Sakura Sake than Subarashiki Sekai. So the song ended up to be a track in ther ONE album.

Here’s another ballad from Arashi. SIRIUS is one of my favorite ballad songs from Arashi. It’s nice to listen to like most of their ballad songs.

Las one from Arashi. Here’s one of my favorite songs from them. Kitto Daijobu.

Okay so moving on to the non-Arashi artists. Here’s Ai Otsuka with her song, my personal favorite, Daisuki da yo

So good news for Ai Otsuka fans (it’s good for me). She’s finally pregnant with her musician husband from that band that I have no idea who. Yes she’ll be out for quite some time. Her baby is due on April 2011]

Okay so next is not too JPOP but you can consider this as Jpop I guess? So Shoujou Jidai (SNSD) has recently released their song Genie in Japan.

It ranked number 4 on the oricon charts in its first week. Beating out AKB48 sub-group French Kiss who only ranked number 5.

I actually feel good at the same time not for them. I feel good because that means SNSD is a success in Japan like most of the korean groups who promoted in Japan. But I feel sad because if they’re success continue, it will take some time before they return with a new song in Korea. Just like what happened to Big Bang. And if I’m not mistaken, I’ve read somewhere that they will release their next single come October or November. And that song is none other than Gee. Yes the girls will bring the Gee wave to Japan as well.

In some sad news. The Music Hour otherwise known as UTABAN has ended its 14 year run in television yesterday. The finales aired yesterday with a 3 hour special. Memorable artist appeared on the show to say farewell such as SPEED and the old Morning Musume. Ohno Satoshi from Arashi appeared as well on the show.

Well I guess that ends my JPOP fandom rant for this week. Tune in tonight for some KPOP action only here on JKMUSICPH

Arashi – To be Free MV released!

Arashi’s PV for their new single To Be Free has been released. The single is set to go out on the 7th

Again, Arashi never failed me in liking any of their songs. That’s why they’re my undisputed favorite boy group. Well I can’t say it’s the best Arashi song ever (Still is still my favorite) but this song is for sure will be another hit. They lack the dance in this one just like My Girl but that doesn’t stop it for being great. The song has a lot of similarities to Hero when it comes to meaning. But the song itself is a change from what Arashi usually does. And has anyone notice how Arashi release a new single every 2 months. If this single goes number 1 again. Definitely Arashi will dominate the charts by the end of the year (they’ve already dominated the 1st half of the year charts).

Well anyway, here’s the PV to Arashi’s new single Due this Wed, To be Free.

My Favorite Arashi songs!

Okay I got addicted to Arashi since about two days ago after watching the 5×10 concert! Actually before Hello! Project came, Arashi was my first love. I learned Arashi through HYD. Yes that weird guy who played Domyouji in that cool dorama.

Moving on, I have my own top 5 Arashi songs! Yes songs not single because I don’t want to limit myself to just 30 songs. Well this songs are in no particular order and were chosen because these songs makes me love Arashi more!

Aozora Pedal

There is a lot of reason why this came first it was already playing on my youtube and second because the PV and song  just fit well together. I so love the meaning to this song. It just goes through me like boom! It’s one of those Arashi songs wherein everytime I hear it, I look for more Arashi songs.

I can’t find the live version for some reason. Well anyways, this song is one of my favorites because of Sho’s rap. I kinda memorize the whole rap but still gets tongue twisters because it’s japanese. The chorus is so lovely and it’s very addicting believe me. I don’t get tired listening to this song even if it’s on loop.

Now I love this song because it pumps out my energy. This is one of the few songs where I sing it a loud when I’m all alone (and believe me there aren’t that many songs that I do that to).

Oh Yeah

Much like Happiness, I sing a long to this song a lot. I love the Oh Yeah! parts of the song, it pumps my energy!

Sirius is a song that has similarities with Aozora Pedal. The song just touches me. I love the meaning of the song. The chorus touches my heart.

Love So Sweet

Come one who doesn’t love this song. Love so Sweet is one of the factors that made Arashi more famous. And again as I learned Arashi through HYD, Love So Sweet is one of my first songs. And I know how to dance this.

Well I guess that’s it. Note that those are only the songs which has a lot of meaning to me. I love all Arashi songs and I’ll continue to support them!

Arashi for dreams!

Arashi on Kokuritsu!

Okay! As you may or may not know. I’m a bigger fan of Arashi than any Hello! Project or JPOP groups. H!P only comes next to them. Well I’ve been anticipating Arashi’s 5×10 concert on Kokuritsu last August for so long now. Well no I don’t have the DVD (if only I can) but thankfully someone uploaded it on Youtube! nitaneechan2 for uploading it!

Okay so here’s my coverage of Arashi’s 5×10 Concert!

They started the song with Kansha Kangeki Ame Arashi. Yes that kind of opening is the most awesome~st opening I have ever seen! Though I still prefer Oh Yeah! as the intro like before. Kansha isn’t a wrong choice either. Especially with them hanging above the whole Tokyo Stadium.

I love the flashy outfit change. You don’t feel that they’re leaving the stage at all. Kaze no Muko e is so LOVE!! yeah! Nino’s voice is so lovely (I sound Gay right?)

Crazy Moon was crazy but Pikanchi was crazier! Aiba was hanging from above! Yeah! he did it twice now at this point! That was awesome. And he’s with a live marching band and a rock band. Horizon is also another awesome performance with the whole group again. Love those outfits so much.

Those vegetables are still a laugh aren’t they! :)) Oh yeah and I’ve noticed that they are wearing color coded outfits…sorta. Well they look like NewS/Kanjani8 with those. Haha! Johnny’s Juniors comes out to play as backup dancers again with Arashi! But I feel like they’ve gotten a lot more Johnny’s Junior members than the last concert. Oh well the more the merrier I guess

Kotoba Yori Taisetsu na mono!! OMG! that was so awesome!! Nino is like the main vocalist and guitarist of a band. I thought it was Jun and Ohno who were playing the guitar and sax at the beginning but I stand corrected. That was so cool. Though the song doesn’t match Nino’s voice (Ohno still sings this much better), there’s a plus for playing with an actual live band. I’m actually going crazy right now at this point of the concert. So before Everything Jun and Aiba introduced the band. They turned everything into a sort of a ballad song.

Hitomi no Naka Galaxy and Aozora Pedal are a perfect match aren’t they? They also turned these two into an acoustic ballad song which is actually good. I find it better than the original. Typhoon Generation was great! That made me feel much more excited at the whole concert and I’m not even half way done at this point. Kumori Nochi, Kaisei is cute!! haha! Ohno’s looks weird everytime he wears that otufit Oh yeah that reminded me something. He’s about 30 now right? A day in our life was kinda plain for me. Oh yeah! that’s what I’m waiting for.

I so love Oh yeah! Everytime I see them perform this it brings up my energy more! Bummer it’s only about 2minutes long. But Hadashi no Mirai comes next anyways. Another one of my favorite. I love how all the fangirls follows them as they do the moves. Beautiful Days was so so so so awesome! OMG! ….. speechless

Sho’s solo! finally!! This is incredible! OH wait!…. Jun’s next!!! Jun did Wish in a jazz version. That was so cool. He even did a jazz dance solo. OMG!!

WHOA! Attack it! Yeah! makes me wanna attack them! Truth!!! They’re suspended again above the whole arena! Oh yeah and they look like Power Rangers ready for an attack. Well that’s not the appropriate them for this song isn’t it?

so at the beginning of the next video. There’s a history of Arashi narrated by each of the members. That’s from the very beginning to the present. Then A.RA.SHI. GAWD! The outfits are hilarious!! See through!!

PIKANCHI is where things gets more awesome! Oh wait… I just realized this is a medley. The medley ends at Kotoba Yori Taisetsu na mono.

Sakura Sake! One of my favorites! OMG! That’s what I like from Arashi! they give the fans a great performance!! Wish again! This medley never ends doesn’t it. OMG! How can Arashi sing this many songs! I love how the whole crowd jumps at Happiness! that’s so crazy.

Believe was so cool! The fireworks, the dance, the everything! hell yeah! that’s one hell of a performance. Then it was a message for the fans. Though I can’t understand this I know they’re thanking all of their fans for all the support throughout the years.

Then 5×10 comes next. This is a very emotional song. I love this one so much. You can feel Arashi’s love!

Heres where the encore starts. They started things with Pikanchi Double. Jun is sitting down. Why oh Why Jun? Well not the whole song anyways.

So continuation of the first encore. They also performed Ashita ni Mukatte and Dekirudake. They ended it with the usual favorite, One Love

Second encore was way awesome than the first. They began things with the awesome Fight Song. OMG! I really love this one. It’s crazy! I wish someone was thrown into water again like last time. It’s the last two songs and they still have the energy. I love Arashi so much. Gorimucchu is next. See that energy, they never get tired for their lovely fans. Oh and have you noticed the specialized glow sticks the fangirls have that’s written Arashi. Doesn’t Big Bang have something like those?

They ended the concert with their very first single A.RA.SHI. Yes that was an awesome concert wasn’t it. I think that wasn’t enough for me to handle.

And if you want more. Here’s more of Arashi with their latest single back then My Girl. If you look at it, that’s not Kokuritsu at all. They performed at Kokuritsu at aroung August of last year. So I’m guessing this performance of My Girl was a later part of the tour. Well anyways, My Girl was lovely. I think this was the very first live performance of My Girl.

Well I guess that’s it *sob* I LOVE THE CONCERT so much I don’t want it to end. Well all good things must come to an end, which only makes me eager to see the next Arashi concert.

Arashi Monster PV released!

This was actually released a few days ago. Arashi’s new single Monster was released two days ago 19th of May while this PV was released a day earlier.

Monster is a tie-up with Satoshi Ohno’s new comedy drama Kaibutsu-kun. The PV reminds me of Arashi’s Believe. Riida gets most of the lines because simply it’s his song. Oh and it’s been a long time since Arashi had a serious dance in a song. The chorus is getting hooked with me. I love the PV, I love how they choose the background, theme everything. The solo thing kinda creeps me out a bit. I feel like it’s totally unnecessary.

So the bottomline is. This single is great. I really enjoyed it. This is worth a view like many other Arashi singles. Hope this one reacher number 1 to continue Arashi’s streak

Arashi Troublemaker and C-ute Shocking 5 album/single review

Arashi Troublemaker Download

Let’s start things of with Arashi’s newest single Troublemaker. Released last March 3, this is Arashi’s 29th single (Hmm.. they started around the same time as Morning Musume but this is only they’re 29th??). The album has 3 tracks, the single Troublemaker which was used as Sho Sakurai latest drama Tokujo Kabachi. Yurase, Ima Wo which was used as Japan’s official theme for the 2010 Winter Olympics and Mou Ippo. The album as of the moment is number 1 on the Oricon charts and sold about 542,000 copied on it’s first week making Arashi the first group to reach 500,000 copies for two consecutive years since B’z.

They already performed their song twice on Music Station but the first one was without Sho because of him covering the Winter Olympics.

Okay so enough introductions, for my review of the songs I’ll start it of with Troublemaker.

Troublemaker is that old Arashi song. It’s pop, it’s catchy, it’s ARASHIC. I have to be honest, this is one of my favorite singles from them. It just leave a mark in your head. But it also lacks something, something new. Arashi has been like this for the past years, the same pop song over and over again. Well the sales went down when they released Hadashi no Mirai which sounds like a song by Earth Wind and Fire. Now to the PV. I actually love how the PV was made, combining stop motion in it. I don’t like their outfits it looks old on them especially on Ohno who’s actually in his 30’s now (old I know).

Next is Yurase, Ima Wo. The song actually reminds me of Oh Yeah! The chorus is like catchy! I wished they made this like a double A-Side instead like Crazy Moon and Ashita no Kioku.

Mou Ippo now reminds me of Sakura Sake because of it’s rock feel to it. I don’t think it’s really rock but you know what I mean. Mou Ippo is also a great single. Yeah all of the songs in this album can be a single if you know what I mean.

Overall I’ll rate this album 4.8/5 (yeah outfits sucks in my opinion)

I know I Know. A lot of you hate this album because well it’s mainly AIRI (I beg to differ). Even though there’s like 3 Suzuki Airi solos (Aa Koi, Zansho Omimai, and of couse Shock) there are still a lot of good song in the album. There are actually two songs that made me love this album. The Party and Kimi no Senpou. I love The Party because it’s that ballad song that I’ve been looking for in C-ute. Like that of Yakusoku Wa from 3rd Love Escalation, this song has that feel to it. Ballad and Melancholic. Yeah I prefer to call this song melancholic. It has that sad yet happy feeling on it.

Kimi no Senpou is a song by Saki, Chisa, and Mai. I love how they added ad lib to the song. It’s like listening to a radio cast. Vocals were awesome, I mean Chisa has a powerful voice but why not give her a decent line in the singles! Why can’t H!P and UFA See her talent! She has the voice. Saki err… well she’s kinda using that cute voice in it again. Mai is improving, she’s not that little girly voice that we know from before. Well mainly this song caught my listening because of Chisa’s vocals. Done!

Shigatsu Sengen isn’t actually like that song. I mean I like the chorus but the verse no way! I mean it feels like the girls are in no mood of singing at all.

The Shochouu Omimai Moushiagemasu remix is actually pointless. They like added a video game sound on it I mean what’s the point?? I prefer the original one better.

So my rating for this album would be 3/5!

Arashi makes Suicide!

Arashi’s full PV for their newest single “Troublemaker” is here. And it sure makes me want to sui-suicide.

The stop motion technique the director did in this PV is awesome. Though, I noticed that the guys don’t usually dance around in their PV anymore since “Everything”
